Writers Theatre

In collaboration with Studio Gang, Morlights created a beautiful and highly functional lighting design for the new 36,000 SF Writers Theatre in downtown Glencoe, IL. Through this close partnership between Morlights and the architects, we helped bring the vision for the building to life. Utilizing three DMX-based control systems, the theatre staff is able to individually manage the lighting for each building component. Inside, the wood batten architecture is silhouetted against a glass curtain wall through the use of theatrical lighting fixtures.

From the exterior, the lobby space glows like a Japanese lantern at night, welcoming visitors and making the Writers Theatre a new icon for Glencoe.
