The Lecture Center at the University of Illinois Chicago was originally designed by renowned architect Walter Netch in the 1960s. The building required substantial lighting, technical, and engineering upgrades to meet the needs of modern students and faculty. Together with architects Valerio DeWalt Train Associates, Morlights strived to honor the 1960s designs while also fully modernizing the lighting system. A new ceiling reflects the original four-quadrant design with new linear, energy-efficient LED luminaires. Luminaires were also used on the sides of the room to enhance the brick walls. We used theatrical lighting around the stage and integrated the entire system fully with AV components.
