In addition to providing the high-rise condominium with functional illumination, lighting for the Bristol’s interior and exterior spaces needed to highlight the property’s high-end features, without detracting from its signature views.

For that reason, the exterior’s wrap-around promenade and amenity spaces are illuminated by lights concealed underneath benches and within facade detailing, as opposed to poles or fixtures that would obstruct sight lines. These hidden lines of light extend from the building’s doors to the property line, ensuring exterior illumination meets both path-of-egress and light-trespass requirements. In addition, a curvy LED product lines the bottom of the building, which is offset by an illuminated crown at its top. Together, the features provide additional exterior light while also making a statement from afar.

Inside, concealed illumination ensures the building’s high-end finishes and decor remain front and center. Different amenity spaces required different lighting strategies depending on the use, decor, and architectural finishes. Lamps with glare control, for example, highlight the many areas containing shiny, marble surfaces, while cove lighting and adjustable downlights provide functional illumination in stairwells and residences.

Interior and exterior lighting is controlled by one digital system, with presets that modify illumination levels based on the time of day and allow for adjustments to be made as needed.
