Roosevelt Collection

Roosevelt Collection is the new and improved multi-use development located in Chicago’s South Loop. After it was purchased by McCaffery Interests, the real estate developer engaged in a comprehensive renovation of the complex. One of their primary interests was the addition of a high-end plaza to serve the retail and residential units on the property. Their vision manifested in an enchanting plaza square, complete with sophisticated landscaping, fabulous fountains, and plenty of seating to encourage interaction. The new plaza is the face of the development, and was crucial in establishing Roosevelt Collection’s place in the community. We joined the design team to provide a fitting lighting design that would solidify the plaza’s high-end, exciting identity.

Morlights’ lighting design ensured that the plaza retained its bold, exciting prominence into the evening hours. Our process received support and understanding from the clients early on, as we communicated our colorful design concept through animated videos made from the architect’s renderings. We implemented white pedestrian and landscape lighting to improve nighttime wayfinding, as well as color-changing LED lighting and signage. These LED lights coordinated with glowing orbs that changed in tandem to the RGB fountain lighting — a distinctive design element that further enhanced the plaza’s unique neighborhood identity.
