Moment is a different kind of apartment building. Located in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, the building’s philosophy of wellness and mindfulness are built into the 490 apartments and 40,000 square feet of amenity space. Morlights worked with architect and interior designer Solomon Cordell Buenz to align our lighting with the building’s mission, creating a clean and sophisticated design.
Morlights approached the new design for Moment with a particular focus on sustainability with a pleasing aesthetic. We updated lighting on the lower spa deck to incorporate motion sensors to increase efficiency, and utilized toe kick lighting, tree lighting, and base lighting at railings on the upper amenity deck to eliminate the need for lighting poles. At the entrance to the building, we utilized transitory lighting to provide continuous light from the port cochere to the lobby for a great first impression. These lighting elements elevated the communal spaces for the tenants, and also assisted the building in earning its LEED-Silver certification.
