Chicago’s Fairfield Hotel was the recipient of a rejuvenation by architecture firm Koo and Associates, and one of the first steps was to update the lobby from a stark, sterile room into an inviting introduction to the hotel. Morlights was brought on to put a modern touch on the lobby for a warmer welcome.
Morlights’ design covered all aspects of the lobby’s lighting, from regulated control systems to a new lighting display. We installed a dimming system with settings that seamlessly take the lobby from morning to night, with pre-programmed levels for consistent, easy control. We also implemented modern light fixtures throughout the lobby, replacing the dated, too-bright lighting with a soft and sophisticated look. Finally, we were asked to create a new centerpiece for the lobby desk, replacing rows of vases with an LED fixture installation of color changing waves. Morlights’ design gave the hotel the update it was seeking, and provided an assuring, welcoming first impression for arriving guests.
