505 Nashville was a history-making tower for Nashville. Topping out at 45 stories of luxury apartments, the tower was the city’s tallest structure. Morlights collaborated with architectural group Solomon Cordwell Buenz on the lighting design for all areas of the tower, designing a program that would suit the luxury apartment feel while also distinctly setting the tower in Nashville culture.
By using Nashville’s iconic music scene as inspiration, we alluded to the city with lighting patterns influenced by guitar strings and piano keys. A modern aesthetic uplifted the interiors and provided a clean, open feel to the units. We also worked on the pool amenity area, using theatrical truss towers to outfit the deck with an exciting, concert atmosphere for special events. These projects were all carried out with tight budget management, as well as the implementation of energy efficient lighting and controls for future cost-saving. Our design instilled an exciting atmosphere into the new tower, successfully merging a modern, high-end aesthetic with design elements that reflect Nashville’s rich history.
