Sean Murphy, Senior Designer at Morlights, first discovered the magic of lighting as a theater student at Western Michigan University. He has significant experience as a designer and director for architectural projects of all scales; from museums and restaurants to residencies, offices, parks, and byways. He believes there is no visual design element that affects one’s emotions more dramatically than light. Sean’s creative theatrical experience makes him an ‘out of the box’ thinker who passionately balances innovation with graceful functionality.

He is proud to have been the lighting designer for the historic renovation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Unity Temple, recently recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. A long-term member of the Illuminating Engineers Society of North America (IESNA), Sean won a Lumen Award from the IES New York Chapter for his work on the Mohegan Sun Casino.
